Bed & Breakfast Boarder
As a Bed & Breakfast Boarder, you’ll become an integral part of Guide or Assistance dog training helping a ‘teenager’ for about 20 weeks whilst they are at school.
Once our dogs have completed Guide or Assistance dog puppy training, they are ready to begin formal Guide or Assistance dog training – usually around 14 to 18 months – and begin a school‑like routine at our Gilles Plains campus, training with our lead Guide & Assistance Dog trainers.
As a Bed & Breakfast Boarder, Monday to Friday you’ll drop them off at ‘school’ in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon, providing a home and care in the evenings and on weekends so they rest, relax, and recharge. That’s where you come in.
It’s the perfect balance for those who love dogs but can’t commit full-time.
Could Bed & Breakfast Boarding be the right fit for you? Let’s see…
- I’m over 18 years of age
- I have a safe, secure yard
- I live within reasonable distance of Gilles Plains
- I have a driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
- I have weekday availability for ‘school’ drop off and pick up
- I’m happy for a dog to live and sleep inside my home
- I enjoy the idea of giving back with built-in flexibility
