Rock Stars & Pop Stars Music Trivia & Bingo: A Rocking Night to Remember
See Differently’s sixth annual quiz night hit a high note, raising more than $31,000 to support our Guide & Assistance Dog program, helping people who are legally blind and veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
More than 300 enthusiastic quizzers attended the Rock Stars & Pop Stars Music Trivia and Bingo event held at the Croatian Club, on Friday 30 May, ready to sing, dance and quiz the night away, all in support of a life-changing cause.
While See Differently – Executive Director, Damian Papps, couldn’t attend in person, Slash from Guns N’ Roses was happy to step in and deliver his message.
“Your support tonight is more than just a donation – it’s a direct investment in the lives of people who rely on our Guide & Assistance Dogs,” Mr Papps, or rather, Slash, said.
“The funds raised will allow us to help more clients receive the support they need to live with greater independence, confidence, and companionship. Thank you for being here and supporting our mission.”
See Differently – Executive Manager Marketing & Fundraising, Sally Raphael, also took to the stage with See Differently – Client, Michael, and his Guide Dog, Stirling, to welcome guests.
“We meet here tonight as a community of people who care about making a difference, who care for each other, and who care about seeing differently,” Ms Raphael said.
Michael, who rocked rockstar-red hair on the night, spoke about the impact of See Differently’s Guide & Assistance Dogs program and reminded the audience about why fundraising events like this mattered and what it meant to him and the community.
Following the formalities, Quiz Master Joe took to the stage and the fun competition began.
A big round of applause for our Quiz Night Champions – Sky’s the Limit – Table 19 – who proved they know their Bowie from their Beyoncé!
And let’s not forget our Best Dressed Winners – The Beatles – you really Let It Be known that style never goes out of fashion.
The winner of See Differently’s Cause for Paws Car Lottery was also drawn on the night – and in a heartwarming twist, Annette, a veteran and client of See Differently’s OPK9 Assistance Dog program, was the lucky recipient of a brand-new Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, valued at over $40,000.
