I can’t imagine life without Pia – Donate today

University student Mattias couldn’t imagine life without his See Differently Guide Dog Pia. We need your support to fund more life changing dogs for people like Mattias.

Open a world of possibility for a young person like Mattias – Donate today

At just 20 years old, Mattias has his whole life ahead of him. It’s a time when he should be free to follow his dreams and take advantage of all the opportunities that life offers him.

But living with severe vision loss means Mattias is facing some big challenges on his journey to independence and adulthood.

“I depend on my family and friends to get around and get through the day which has a big impact on my confidence and mobility,” Mattias

See Differently Guide Dogs give people the confidence, independence and unconditional love they need to face life’s challenges and thrive. But there aren’t enough of these life-changing animals.

We’re seeking the support of the community this June to donate to See Differently and support our program and more people like Mattias.

Pia has changed my life

Mattias first reached out to us towards the end of high school.

“I wanted to go to uni, but I knew there was no way I’d be able to without help.”

Thanks to generous donations and the See Differently Guide and Assistance Dog Program, Mattias was matched with a smart, sweet-natured Guide Dog called Pia – and the pair formed an instant bond.

Since being matched, Pia has been putting her best paw forward and changing Mattias’ life for the better in so many ways.

“For the first time ever, I feel safe and confident getting out of the house and doing things on my own. Pia has opened so many opportunities for me. She’s made it possible for me to go to uni. She helps me get there and back safely on the tram. And she guides me around campus, down long, narrow corridors, so I get to where I need to go without running into people or things.”

Your support is invaluable

See Differently Guide Dogs make a priceless difference to people like Mattias, but the expense of training and matching them with the right person is significant.

First, there’s the cost of providing food, bedding and vet care for puppies who are growing big and strong in the Puppy Program.

Then there’s the cost of providing the specialist, intensive training that aspiring Guide Dogs need to be smart, hard-working and reliable companions.

There’s also the thorough process of matching a dog with the right human and teaching that dog to respond to that person’s individual needs and lifestyle.

Your support before the end of June 30 will ensure more life-changing Guide Dogs can be bred, trained and matched for people like Mattias with severe vision loss.
