Advocacy Policy
Our Policies
At See Differently, we are committed to providing you with high-quality support and services. We understand that, from time to time, you may choose to use an advocate to help you express your wishes, protect your rights, and negotiate on your behalf.
What is Advocacy?
Advocacy means having someone you trust who acts only in your best interests support you to understand information, explore your options, and communicate your choices. Your advocate can be a family member, friend, carer, or an independent advocacy professional.
When You Might Use Advocacy
You may wish to use an advocate to:
- Discuss or review your care plan or assessments
- Help with complaints or concerns
- Understand service agreements or changes to your support
- Attend meetings or communicate with our staff
- Make sure your rights and preferences are heard and respected
Your Rights
- You have the right to choose your own advocate.
- You may change your advocate at any time.
- You can meet or speak with your advocate privately.
- Your advocate will be treated with the same respect as you.
