Financial Hardship Policy

Our Commitment

See Differently understands that some clients may face financial hardship that temporarily affects their ability to pay service fees or co-contributions. We are committed to ensuring fair and equitable access to essential services while maintaining respect, dignity, and confidentiality.

 

Our Principles

Our hardship process is guided by the following principles:

  • Fairness and Equity: Each request is considered on its individual merits.
  • Transparency: Decisions and outcomes are communicated clearly.
  • Respect and Dignity: Clients are treated with empathy and confidentiality.
  • Accountability: Decisions follow internal delegations and program guidelines.
  • Compliance: Processes align with Department of Health and Aged Care requirements and other relevant funding conditions.

 

Requesting Hardship Assistance

Clients who are unable to meet payment obligations may request a hardship assessment. Requests can be made in writing, outlining the reasons payment cannot be made, and sent to:

Supporting information may be requested to help us assess eligibility. All requests are reviewed promptly and fairly, and clients are notified of the outcome within 14 business days.

 

Confidentiality

All hardship applications and related information are treated as strictly confidential and managed in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and See Differently’s Privacy and Confidentiality Policy.
